AU History: Takuto is the child of a family that once lived in Union, long ago. His grandfather was once a member of the Divine Defense Force and went by the title "Galactic Pretty Boy". However, he grew frustrated with the lack of a sign and went to search for one on his own, vanishing into the forest. His search lead him to the Archipelago, where he eventually settled among the other people he found out there and he had a son. That son would eventually prove to be quite ambitious and would leave the Archipelago not long after having Takuto, abandoning him to be raised by his grandfather.
Takuto was raised on stories of Union and trained by his grandfather to be his successor. Takuto became quite close to two youth within his community, one, a young boy named Natsuo, who dreamed of flying and the other, Hana, who Takuto secretly loved. Hana, however, loved Natsuo, not Takuto. Natsuo was terminally ill and when he passed away something changed in Takuto. Takuto wanted to be radiant and hopeful, like Natsuo had been. Seeing this change, his grandfather gifted him with the Tau stone and sent him off in search of Union with a letter of introduction to join the Divine Defense Force. Takuto set out on a ship from the Archipelago, but once he reached the Tropical Island he wasn't able to catch another ship and so he instead swam the rest of the way.
Canon Personality: Takuto is an earnest and kind young man with an easy, carefree attitude and seemingly unconsciously heroic. He is confident, cheerful, and energetic, making friends easily and wearing his heart and his emotions on his sleeve.
While this is definitely part of his natural personality, it's shown that Takuto wasn't always quite as he was. Growing up with Hana and Natsuo, he didn't seem to really connect with others beyond those two. However, after Natsuo's death, Takuto resolves to become more "radiant" like Natsuo had been. The Takuto seen in the present is a result of that decision, which contributes to his generally outgoing, open personality.
That's not to say Takuto is foolish or incapable of being serious (although he can be a bit dense at times). While he has a penchant for a more playful demeanor and a desire to experience his youth to its fullest (again, somewhat inspired by Natsuo), when things get serious, he is perfectly capable of giving it the gravity needed. Takuto is fiercely loyal and protective of those close to him, and the attitude of a hero, that is, one who wants to save and protect everyone is a core part of his being. When a fight starts, Takuto will go all out. That said, he's still a teenager and above all else, isn't willing to kill. He in fact goes out of his way to make sure the Driver is protected in battle once the third phase is attained, not being willing to take their life even if they are an enemy that he must defeat.
Takuto is at his core a very honest individual. He's plain and honest to a fault, which tends to draw people to him. That's part of his "radiance", being outgoing, trustworthy and kind. Takuto will fight fiercely with no regard to his own life to protect those he loves.
While it isn't necessarily seen, Takuto has actually spent a great deal of his life training, which gives him a startling amount of discipline. He was trained from an early age to be a Star Driver, which leads to a high level of athletic and physical ability. Takuto, under the surface, is actually quite hard-working. He could in some ways be compared to a swan, beautiful and elegant on the surface of the water but struggling mightily below. In life, he has a tendency to make everything look easy, but that's because of the great deal of effort he's put into it behind the scenes.
AU Deviation: In canon Takuto is trained to be a Star Driver, which is actually a rather heavy role. While the existence and use of the Cybodies is not fully understood, it is known that they could be powerful weapons if wielded by the wrong hands, capable of withstanding even nuclear assault. This gives Takuto a much heavier purpose in canon than he will have here. While gaining the Tau stone from his grandfather and having trained so hard in his youth will still be a factor, the purpose - to seek out and protect the gods of old - is more esoteric and won't come with the more immediate cataclysmic weight. This gives him the ability to summon Tauburn, a massive mecha-like creature known as a Cybody. In reality, Cybodies appear as enormous statues but when unlocked, they can be summoned forth, at first in "Zero Time" and then later in real time. Tauburn is the hidden 22nd Cybody, crafted by an alien race specifically for humanity's use (as opposed to the other Cybodies which were not and are implied to have their own personalities and social order as seen by the rivalry and eventual defeat of Ayingott by Samehk).
Tauburn is capable of a number of special feats, and is considered one of if not the most powerful of the Warrior-class Cybodies.
Tauburn is never shown to materialize in Zero Time as all other Cybodies, it instead shatters the space around it in order to enter.
Tauburn can fire powerful beams of energy from its chest core. In later forms, Takuto can travel with the beam, striking at the core of an enemy Cybody to surgically remove it and the Driver while destroying the Cybody. This power can be used in a similar sense to form a barrage of energy missiles, which have longer range and greater accuracy.
Additionally, Tauburn has floating "piles", independent weapon systems that have a few uses. They float around its waist somewhat like a floating skirt, and can be used to enhance his attacks by forming around his fist. They can also be used as jet boosters by forming behind him, or can fly out independently and firing energy beams of their own accord. Finally, they can be used to form a shield to protect Tauburn.
Tauburn's most signature ability is the possession of the two Star Swords, Emeraude and Saphir. Both blades are glowing energy swords of green and blue color and powered by the Driver's personal ability. They can be materialized outside of Zero Time and without the benefit of a Cybody.
Finally, Takuto is shown to be able to, through force of will, reconstitute Tauburn and repair it with great speed if it is damaged. Tauburn has never been destroyed so it is unknown if this ability would work if it were fully destroyed.
Most Star Drivers also appear to have a "First Phase" ability that can be used outside of Zero Time. Takuto never actually evidences one, but there is speculation as to what his first phase is - either the ability to be 1 phase above what has been unlocked (as seen by the fact that Tauburn is always in the 3rd Phase when Glittering Crux unlocks the 2nd Phase, giving him a much higher battle capability). The second theory is that his First Phase is unnaturally high radiance, which would explain why he's generally thought to be extremely attractive by most people around him.
Enlightened Abilities: Takuto will be a God of War Enlightened, with the typings of Psychic, Fairy, and Fighting.
